Advanced Placement

COVID-19 Update

In response to school closings due to the impact and ongoing threat of COVID-19, the College Board has developed AP Exams that can be taken at home, online this year from May 11-22, 2020. Free online AP classes and review sessions are available at youtube.com/advancedplacement to help students prepare for the 45-minute exams.
NMSU recognizes both the need for these changes and the effort that students have already made in these challenging courses. The university remains committed to granting students academic credit for the successful completion of 2020 AP Exams and our current policy for awarding credit will remain in effect for students who test in 2020. We appreciate students’ efforts to do their best under the difficult circumstances.
Thanks!

Students who have taken an Advanced Placement Exam and earned composite scores of 3, 4, or 5 may be granted credit. Credit will be treated as transfer credit without a grade but will count toward graduation, and may be used in fulfilling specific curriculum requirements.

See the New Mexico Higher Education Department’s NM Advanced Placement Policy for more information.
